How to Clean a One-Hitter in 5 Easy Steps
1) Empty & disassemble
Tap out the bowl. If your one-hitter has an ash release, use it first. Remove the screen if you’re replacing it.
(Using Spark Pipe? Hit the push-button to clear the airway—then proceed.)
2) Dry brush the airway
Run a cotton pipe cleaner through the bore a couple of times. This knocks loose resin so the alcohol doesn’t have to do all the work.
3) Short alcohol soak + shake
Drop the parts into a zip-top bag or small jar. Add enough isopropyl to cover .Seal and shake gently for 10 seconds, then let it sit for 30 minutes.
4) Re-brush & spot clean (right after the soak)
Pull the parts out and run a fresh cotton pipe cleaner through the airway again. Use a Q-tip dipped in isopropyl to wipe the bowl, mouthpiece, threads, and any corners where residue remains. For stubborn spots, twist gently—don’t scrape with metal.
5) Rinse warm, then dry
Rinse each part under warm water until the smell of alcohol is gone. Pat dry and let air-dry a few minutes.
6) Reassemble & test the draw
Pop in a fresh mesh screen (or your cleaned one), reassemble, and take a few test pulls (no flame) to confirm the airflow feels easy.
